"Wild Guns Reloaded" is a fast paced gallery style shooter mixing the Wild West with steampunk. Players can play as Clint, Annie, Dorris or Bullet, or all together in multiplayer action! Each can jump, dive and roll to get out of the way of the barrage of bullets enemies let fly - or shoot them down with their own gun!

Wild Guns Reloaded sets the new benchmark on how to bring back old Super Nintendo titles to the current generation of gamers. It not only manages to remain faithful to everything that made up the original such a stellar effort, but actually offers some worthwhile new content. With the continued absence of the Virtual Console service on Switch (and the rising costs of a complete-in-the-box original Super Nintendo versions of the game), we offer little refrain in welcoming one of Natsume’s finest games home.

Wild Guns was a lot of fun when I played it back in the day, and it definitely help the last time I took it for a spin on PlayStation 4, which makes it very easy for me to recommend the game on the Nintendo Switch, being able to play at home or on the go as you enjoy the new characters, stages and weapons, as well as having two extra modes for this version that add a little something extra on top of everything else make this one a must-have for both those of you that got to play the original release on the SNES and those who are coming into this one without any previous experience.

Wild Guns Reloaded isn't necessarily a game I asked for, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless, especially on handheld mode. It's colorful, vibrant, and an artistic beauty. Among other things, it remains to be a very fun title from a time when video games were still evolving. With some extra polish and new ways to play the game, Wild Guns was remastered as best as it possibly could have been. It's not new or special in today's landscape, but I still think that it's a title everyone should pick up and play for a really great time. Most of my time is dedicated to tearing apart games and movies, then telling you what I think about it.

Wild Guns Reloaded may be a splash of cold water in the face reminding you of just how hard games from the 8-bit and 16-bit eras could be, but it’s also a reminder of how damn fun and enjoyable they can be as well, proving that some titles are indeed timeless. The graphics still have the same stunning impact, the action is still fast-paced, and the new additions are welcome indeed.

Between the fine-tuned gameplay, the enhanced visuals and sound, the four-player fun, and the new gameplay-changing character additions, Wild Guns Reloaded is one of the best retro reissues we’ve yet seen on the PS4. It’s also fantastic representative of an underappreciated genre with an adorable pup riding a robot. What’s not to love?

If you haven’t played Wild Guns: Reloaded on the PlayStation 4 or even on PC, then the Switch version is definitely worth picking up.
