If you have had a bad day and what to let off some steam, Teardown is the game for you. Similarly, if you want to solve puzzles and pull off amazing heists, this is the game! I thoroughly enjoyed my playthru of the various modes and loved not only how simple it is to learn, but also how intricate and destructive it can be. The voxel graphics look amazing and the physics engine is a true marvel.

Teardown is a challenging game that requires a mindset to be able to plan and then carry out the strategy needed to solve puzzles...or you can just use the scorched earth tactic and destroy everything in your path. Personally, I found this method to be very satisfying and a whole lot of fun. Plus the TV news afterwards can be fun to watch. Some missions can be frustrating and I was frustrated once; then I realized that I could hop into a bucket loader and smash a path through the building instead of trying to manoeuvre through a maze that even the paint sprayer couldn't help me with. I didn't find any major bugs but one aspect of demolishing a building seemed rather unrealistic.

Teardown isn’t just a game – it’s an indie gaming masterpiece and probably the best indie game I have played this year (and trust me, I play a lot of them!). Tuxedo Labs has meticulously crafted an experience that not only delivers a thrilling main campaign but also encourages creativity through its sandbox. If you’re seeking a game that seamlessly combines strategic thinking, destruction, and endless possibilities, Teardown is undoubtedly a must-play. The joy experienced by my son and I stands as a resounding testament to the game’s success in providing an unforgettable and expansive gaming journey. This game was reviewed based on Xbox S|X review code, using an Xbox S|X console.

Spend ages planning with explosives and cables only to see it fail again and again — until it doesn’t. Teardown is fantastic fun.

You may take a look at Teardown and wonder what all the fuss is about. Those thoughts may not change much after the first hour or two of play. But once Teardown clicks, it clicks like nothing else you’ll have played for a good while. Getting to grips with the ideas behind it, considering strategies, working through tactics and then putting them into action, hoping that all goes to plan, always feels good; fresh, due to the sheer amount of variety that is involved.

Calling it a game may be a bit of a stretch on account of its loose structure, but you can’t argue with the fun. 9/10 cracked safes This review is based on the PC Steam release.

This game is as every bit of fun as it looks. Each mission gives you as much time as you need to drive vehicles into walls or just drive a front-end loader straight through a house. The first mission makes you take down a house for a land development company and I didn’t swing the hammer once, instead, I was straight in with the front-end loader, but after a few runs, I lost the bucket and started taking damage. Costly, but in the end, it was all worth it. The developers have made a great decision in making multiple missions for each location because it forces you to find new ways to get around the locations.
