Whilst I was aware of The Escapists, it was never a game on my most wanted list, but having now played for a good number of hours and still only scratching the surface, I can wholeheartedly recommend picking this up and get involved with one of the first great indie titles of 2015.

The Escapists is a fun retro bit throwback and a challenging prison puzzle game. It takes place over 9 different prisons in a sandboxed environment. Each prison has its own unique ways of mastering an escape. You can choose to make nice with your other inmates or beat them up for mini quests to gain some money. Each day starts with a roll call, then onto daily lifestyle activities such as breakfast, workout, showers, free periods, lunch, and dinner. The object of the game is to think smart, plan your escape and time it perfectly.

I really enjoyed playing The Escapists. I must admit that at first though I felt a bit lost and unsure of what to do when the tutorial abruptly ended, but I soon had the game figured out and started to really enjoy it.- I would definitely recommend picking it up since I had an absolute blast writing this The Escapists review!

The Escapists is easily one of the most original games in a long time that successfully recreates a prison environment. I love the inclusion of the RPG factor as you explore the prison, looking for the best escape paths possible.

The Escapists is a wonderfully deep and complex puzzle game that reels you in further and further as you make progress from one prison to the next. It leaves you feeling like a mastermind, but not after ridiculing you for making silly mistakes and stealing all your hard work off you.
