CRITIK
Tango Fiesta is a top-down co-operative two stick shooter for 1 to 4 players. It is set in a world where the events from every single 80's action film ever made actually happened to one unlucky ex-special-forces hero called John Strong, you and up to three friends get to blast, shoot, knife, and rescue your way through endless procedurally generated levels in the ultimate story of a one man army prevailing against every evil the world has ever known!

This game feels like an action movie. Yet I hesitate to shout down from the mountaintops about it. Maybe I’m just too badly burned by the Bionic Cop stage. Maybe I wanted more from the gun shop. If nothing else, I’m going to dump many more hours into Tango Fiesta until I successfully finish the damn thing. The game is just too fun from moment to moment for anything less.

Tango Fiesta has a few nice touches here and there, but nothing really in the way of originality. It’s not the best twin-stick shooter out there, by a long mile. And it isn’t even the best eighties action film inspired game either. If you like some couch co-op shooting action, then it may be worth a look, but wait until it goes on sale.

Between poor controls and downright tedious gameplay, Tango Fiesta fails to incentivise players to invest in its tough-guy premise. Though the game is initially fun if playing with friends, it offers little to no reward for time spent messing around with bad gameplay.
