Regardless of how well-received their initial product was, Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition is an evolution of it.” Still, these elements, the management, the combat, the choices, they combine well with one another and create an experience that doesn’t get old fast.

Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition is an interesting game with a unique lore. As a space simulation with a fun and interactive combat system, RPG based elements and micro-management, it succeeds on providing a satisfying experience. Although it has a couple of flaws, old-school game lovers will surely enjoy playing Halcyon 6. However, if you're looking for up-to-date graphics and sound, you should think twice about giving this game a chance.

There's a certain appeal that comes with the territory of being the boss. You have minions, they are supposed to do what you tell them to do, life is great. Until of course that your entire federation is destroyed in a heartbeat and the only thing you have left is an alien relic that you're using a space station. Stuck in the middle of now enemy territory with pirates to boot, welcome to Halcyon 6! Halcyon 6 is a turned based resource management RPG that will have you simultaneously running the space station and building a fleet to both explore and eliminate the surrounding threats.

Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition is a decent update to a game that always had promise, but it’s still not for everyone. Rebuilding the Federation, making allies, making enemies, and all the choices I had to make were all compelling, but honestly the combat didn’t thrill me and happened just that little bit too often. If you don’t mind this as much, then the Lightspeed Edition is a good time, just not quite an essential purchase.
