A classic in every sense of the book, 'Tetris' remains as strong as ever in its 'Tetris Ultimate' incarnation. 'Endless' provides the most fun (and the most hardcore frustration) with its neverending appeal to just get a slightly better high score, and playing online (and comparing replays and scores) is a presumably welcome addition to the 'Tetris' mythos that sadly didn't work at the time of the review, for lack of co-players. A game for the ages: yesterday, today and forever. Highly recommended. Multiplayer Mode(s) - Online Versus Motion Controls - No All disc reviews at High-Def Digest are completed using the best consumer HD home theater products currently on the market.

Part solid execution and part missed opportunity, Tetris Ultimate is hard to judge. If all you want is a good version of classic Tetris for your new console, this one will suit your needs well. The low price is nice and the gameplay options provided are a nice touch, but it doesn't do enough to earn the "ultimate" moniker.

The core experience in Tetris Ultimate is fondly familiar and as enjoyable as it was thirty years ago. As a product created to honor its legacy, however, it is lifeless and bland. The 1989 GameBoy version, with its monochromatic color scheme and three song soundtrack, was way more hip and exciting in comparison. Librarian by day, Darkstation review editor by night.

While I’m not sure that I would call Ultimate Tetris the ultimate version of Tetris, it certainly is an adequate version of the classic. They nail the basic concept of the classic game but fail to really take it anywhere new. Plus, the online issues are just plain horrendous. * The product in this article was sent to us by the developer/company. Guess who's back!!! If you have been here before, you know the basics: lifelong gamer, father, and of course, former certified news monkey.
