Whether you want to play single games against friends, compete in online leagues, or sit back and binge a season by yourself offline, Super Mega Baseball 2 delivers in spades. This is a Triple Crown-winning batter, a multiple Cy Young-winning pitcher, and a first-ballot Hall of Famer all wrapped into one. This is the greatest baseball game I have ever played.

The best baseball on the Switch to date...if not on any console. A must-buy for hardball fans. 4.5 Super Mega, Indeed With no disrespect intended to Santa Monica Studios’ beautiful ‘MLB: The Show,’ ‘Super Mega Baseball 2’ is the best game of hardball available. Before I get skewered for such a bold statement, let me explain.

Overall, Super Mega Baseball 2 is a great package–there is a ton of depth, plenty of customization options for players, teams, and leagues, and online multiplayer. If you can get around the art-style, the poor soundtrack and umpire sound effects, the game is really a ton of fun. If you’re a baseball fan, it’s definitely worth checking out and being able to play on-the-go makes this the definitive version of the game. Swinging for the fences, Super Mega Baseball 2 captures the fun of America’s pastime. Those looking for a highly customisable baseball experience will find plenty to sate their creativity. While Super Mega Baseball 2 isn’t as deep as MLB The Show, does it really matter when you can drop players like a sack of spuds with a beanball? Score: 4/5 + Knocking out pitchers and batters alike + Easy to play with intuitive controls + Highly customisable - Ego systems lacks clarity - Difficult to find online games - September 19, 2019 at 8:23 am I’ve been keen to get this for a while but hard to justify with current backlog.

If you’re a Nintendo Switch owner and a baseball devotee then the deep mechanical options and customisation levels of Super Mega Baseball 2: Ultimate Edition mean that it's the ideal tonic to ward off the lack of MLB The Show on the platform and the perpetual disappointment that is RBI Baseball series. With support for all manner of local and online setups for co-op and competitive multiplayer – and lots of extra DLC content bundled in – this is a rewarding yet potentially intimidating simulator that’s only really diminished by a lack of official licensing and a proper training mode.
