The Overpowered Noobs

Redie's music, game environment, sound effects, and physics work together to create an engaging, enjoyable universe. The gameplay is hard, but the feeling of finally beating a difficult level is pure euphoria. Lastly, the mastery system adds a lot of replayability to the game for players who are either exceptionally skilled or masochistic.

At its core, Redie is an entrancing menagerie of grief and triumph. There are things it could have done better, especially when it comes to new players, but it succeeds where it needs to. More than that, it boasts an astounding ability to embrace tedium and turn it into something fun. Redie will test how much you can tolerate a difficult game, but you'll walk away satisfied. And again, play it while you're young and snappy.

Redie is a challenging title. Frustration inducing but by the end becomes rewarding. It certainly catered towards fans of Hotline Miami, it why it caught my attention, but the game itself feels fresh and enjoyable. It isn’t a straight up clone, neither is it an homage, but another action-packed stylish top-down shooter with the same concept. Redie (Reviewed on Windows) This game is great, with minimal or no negatives. Redie is a challenging title.

While Redie is really fun, you always feel like you’ve played it before if you’ve ever played Hotline Miami. I respect what the developers have done here as it has really tight controls and is very fun and rewarding to play, but it feels too similar.
