The A.I. could use more brainpower, but the controls handle beautifully, and the graphics and sounds are stellar. If you're a veteran of Allied Assault's first campaign, signing up for Spearhead is mandatory, soldier! email this article / print this article / view screens Name Address City State ZIP Email Sponsored Links Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.

The single-player campaign is dense, exciting, and only three-and-a-half hours long. So if you were thinking about picking up the game, you may have to decide whether or not a few hours of great single-player gaming and some new but not earth-shattering multiplayer features are worth 30 bucks. Spearhead begins with a scene that could have been taken straight out of Band of Brothers: It's D-Day, and you're on a transport plane that will soon drop you into Normandy.

The new single-player levels are challenging without being impossible and break new gameplay ground without abandoning the things that made the original great. The new multiplayer maps are equally imaginative and fans of team play will find it worth the price for tug-of-war mode alone.
