Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series Episode 5 Don't Stop Believin is a fantastic ending to this season. The animations were distracting but the removal of tiresome puzzles for more narrative and action made episode 5 the best one of the entire season. Each scene served an intense emotional purpose where the Guardians successfully restored not only their bonds but complemented their relationship with precise actions that saved the entire Galaxy.

Don’t Stop Believin’ is a mostly strong finale that, despite some lazy visuals and the standard engine issues, nicely wraps up the first season of TellTale’s Guardians of the Galaxy while providing closure for each character’s arc. TellTale’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Episode 5 – Don’t Stop Believin’ Developer: TellTale Games Price: $24.99 for the Season Pass Platforms: PS4 (reviewed), Xbox One, PC, Mac, Android, iOS MonsterVine was provided with a PS4 code for review. I’ve been critical of some of Telltale Games’ endings in the past, but I really enjoyed how Guardians of the Galaxy wrapped up. Did I regret some of the choices I made? Definitely. But more importantly, I felt as if the team had legitimately grown due to some poor judgment calls, even if poor Groot was missing an arm by the end. Don’t Stop Believin’ isn’t the strongest episode of the series, but it does mark a rather fitting end to Telltale Games’ Guardians of the Galaxy.

Don’t Stop Believin’ feels stretched out, but ultimately plays out as an enjoyable finale filled with humor and heart. If this does end up being the final appearance of Telltale’s take on the Guardians of the Galaxy, it’ll be reassuring to know that the season ended on a high note (in more ways than one), while still leaving an open door for the dysfunctional space family to return in the future.

Not without its weaknesses, the conclusion to Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy series nonetheless takes things out on a high note. It's clear that Telltale's storytelling and gameplay are wearing out their welcome, so hopefully the teased follow-up season will do more to reinvigorate this shaky franchise. Despite this, if the earlier episodes had you wondering whether Guardians of the Galaxy would amount to anything, well, don't stop believin'.
