Light appears to stick with the bare minimum at first glance, but the slick presentation, stylized visuals and memorable music come together to create a fun and pure stealth action game. While it is a bit on the short and easy side, there’s incentive to revisit levels in order to learn more effective and efficient means of completing them.

Simply put, Light is just a joy to play and experience. So full of charm, each level you complete offers a greater and greater reward.

It’s tough to wholeheartedly recommend Light given its imperfect brevity, but if you couldn't care less about the $12.99 price tag, then by all means give it a try. Click to visit the game's page on Steam.

Light has great ideas but fails to use them in any meaningful way or make any lasting impression - it's like the setup to a great game that never comes. Shame. Top Game Moment: The beginning, getting introduced to the wonderful systems at play.

It’s difficult to recommend Light in its current state. It’s a fun game, but its so short and so easy that it doesn’t remotely justify its price. The developers have promised additional free content in the future, which assuming it’s a decent amount and of similar quality to what is already in the game, could elevate it to be worth buying.

Unsatisfying, under-developed gameplay mechanics and a ridiculously short length, Light is anything but the name suggests. It's hard to recommend to anyone, even fans of Thomas Was Alone or Monaco: What's Yours is Mine, but for those who really must play Light, I would recommend waiting for a Steam sale.

Light reaches for greatness, but ends up merely serviceable; nothing breaks or falls apart within its mechanically sound design, but nothing inspires the game to step out from the shadows of better games. This review is based on a Steam download of Light, provided by Team17.
