My Final Thought is that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes on the Nintendo Switch is an absolute must for not just fans of the Lego franchise but for the Marvel Universe as well. This game was an absolute blast to play. I could quite easily play through the whole game again because it is just that good. Please do yourself a favor and pick this game up. You will not be disappointed. So it is with great pleasure to give LEGO Marvel Super Heroes the Thumb Culture Platinum Award. It truly deserves it.

Everything about LEGO Marvel Super Heroes feels like a labor of love from TT Games. While it could have easily cut down on the amount of content and created just as successful a title, it instead built something far bigger. The result is a game filled with diverse playable characters, a New York City that feels ripped out of the comics and sights and sounds that bring the whole thing to life. Suddenly, I feel like a little kid at the bowling alley, pressing my Dad for quarters so I could take down Magneto.

It’s weird to realize that the Switch hadn’t had the original Lego Marvel Super Heroes in its library up until now, but that basically ended up working in its favor. In an era where we’re a bit saturated with the MCU and the disappointment that was Square’s own Avengers game, replaying Lego Marvel Super Heroes served to remind me of a simpler, more innocent and way more entertaining take on the source material. It’s a game that aged remarkably well, and a phenomenal fit for a portable, with tons of unlockables to unveil in its huge open world.

TT Games' LEGO Marvel Super Heroes presents a nice break from the complex sports titles and intense shooters that overrun the console. That's not to say the game doesn't offer it's own action, but it's much less in your face. Plus, it's LEGO.
