Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition adds even more style to what was already an amazing action game. Not everyone may feel inclined to pay for this again especially since Vergil is coming to the older versions as paid DLC. As a huge Devil May Cry fan though I’m very happy with it as the upgrades to the visuals, performance, load times, and additional modes alongside Vergil made me fall in love with this game all over again. *Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is available now on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.

Last year Capcom brought the next instalment of its DMC series; Devil May Cry 5 to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The fast-paced hack & slash was a big success and brought Devil May Cry back into the limelight. Taking advantage of the power of the new consoles, Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition boasts fancy new ray-tracing technology and higher graphical fidelity.

Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is every bit as good as the original release, if not even more, thanks to the many additions like playable Vergil, Turbo Mode and Legendary Dark Knight difficulty. While ray tracing and DualSense support are not massive game-changers, they round up the package nicely and help making it a worthy purchase for every Devil May Cry fan and for those who did not have yet the pleasure to experience one of the best character action games released in recent years. Pros - New playable character, Vergil, with a very fun and powerful moveset - Faster action speed with Turbo Mode - Legendary Dark Knight Mode that forces players to approach combat differently - Improved immersion with DualSense support - 120 FPS support Cons - Vergil's campaign is almost identical to the original - Ray tracing leads to performance drops above 1080p resolution The links above are affiliate links.
