Kingdom Rush Origins is easily one of the best Tower Defence games I’ve played in quite some time. Although I would have loved a speed option and the ability to use unlocked towers in earlier levels, I still had a great time playing the game and found it very challenging and satisfying. There’s a number of difficulties, gameplay modes, and a whole host of upgrades and heroes to unlock, if you like the genre then you’ll easily sink many hours into the game.

Kingdom Rush Origins continues the tradition of supremely rewarding tower defence gameplay and it plays wonderfully on Switch.Kingdom Rush Origins gameplay video → Kingdom Rush Review Kingdom Rush Frontiers Review Caveman Tales Review Switch ★★☆☆☆ Cavemen were entrepreneurs, too, so get ready to build lovely little settlements in a goofy brand new prehistoric simulation game. Last month, I played and reviewed a little indie called Country Tales and Caveman Tales is essentially a reskin of that game which is needless to say, very disappointing.

Kingdom Rush Origins from Ironhide Game Studio is a step up with creativity, enemy, and hero design/execution, and with how clever the series’ maps can get. Unfortunately, the difficulty has also stepped up and can create a frustrating time that may hurt the positive parts of this latest Kingdom Rush game.

Kingdom Rush Origins does a lot right, but it’s also got one major flaw that sours the experience. The gameplay is really slow overall; there are frequent moments where you’ll just be staring at the screen for extended periods of time, waiting for the enemies to waddle their way across the screen.
