Ittle Dew might have been ported here after the outstanding sequel, but that doesn’t mean that you should ignore this original entry to focus on the sequel, as the first game is still a brilliant Zelda clone. Yeah, it’s much more linear than the open-ended nature of the sequel, but it’s also just as fun with the clever puzzles and combat that you’ve come to expect from a game in this category. Add the speedrunning potential and the collectibles, and this is also a very replayable adventure, making this is an easy buy if you’re looking for a indie Zelda to entertain yourself with.

A puzzle-rich adventure title that’s brimming with charm, Ittle Dew offers a solid experience and plenty of amusement, thanks to its quirkiness, challenging combat, and interesting puzzles. With varying difficulty for all ages, it’s a must have for adventure fans.

Depending on your exploration and puzzle solving skills, Ittle Dew will last between three to six hours. It is not a terribly long and epic adventure, but one that has a lot of heart. If you truly love the Legend of Zelda series and adventures in general, Ittle Dew is the perfect game to remind you why that love exists in the first place. Nintendojo was provided a copy of this game for review by a third party, though that does not affect our recommendation.

Never quite as good as the smart writing and clever ideas seem to promise, but still a thoroughly entertaining parody of the best of 2D Zelda. Pros: The emphasis on puzzles over exploration and combat means it never feels like a clone, and makes the best of the endearing visuals and witty dialogue. Cons: Despite some novel ideas few of the puzzles actually feel very original.
