I, Zombie creates a fun, approachable setting that’s still plenty challenging. With simple yet effective visuals and sound, decent controls, and a heavy bend towards simple strategy, there’s enough here for veteran and casual gamers alike. With a miniscule $1.99 price tag on PC via Steam or Desura, or a mere $1.00 on Xbox Live, I can’t think of any reason it’s not worth checking out if you’re curious.

The Switch, as a portable console, is great for this game. It’s always nice to have an infectious zombie on hand to pass the time when out and about. And though the gameplay itself is repetitive, it's a solid game with its tactical challenges and a great design.

I, Zombie is a fun arcade-style release with some light RTS elements thrown in for goof measure that offers a solid 30 stages from the development team that you should be able to complete in less than an hour at most, with perhaps an extra 20-30 minutes if you need to replay some of the tricky stages as you try to get a better overall time or a three star rating.

Zombie is a perfect fit for the Switch. It’s something that feels more fun to experience on the go instead of playing at home. The game is easy to pick up but can be difficult if you’re trying to get all three stars. While not great, it’s an enjoyable way to kill some time. It’s a nice palette cleanser from all of the AAA games on the market at the moment. If you’re into short experiences and casual games that you can have fun with a few minutes at a time, I, Zombie is worth checking out. For $4.99, you can’t go wrong with this interesting and “lively” take on the undead. A review code was provided by the publisher. Andrew Gonzalez is the Co-Editor-In-Chief of Xbox Enthusiast.

It’s fun in it’s own way, for a while, but I think the developer would be better off remastering Oozi into one non-episodic game and bringing that to a new audience. What we have here is not only a middling game, it’s a criminal waste of the talent I know lies in the hearts of the staff at Awesome Games Studio. REVIEW CODE: A complimentary Microsoft Xbox One code was provided to Brash Games for this review.

If you are after a rich zombie experience in video game form, you’re not going to get one with I, Zombie.
