Fuga: Melodies of Steel was an incredible experience, and Fuga 2: Melodies of Steel provides more depth and character development on top it. The enhanced mechanics and gameplay based off player feedback finessed Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 into a smoother, better-paced title — one that would be a mistake to miss. If you’ve wanted a fresh take on turn-based strategy featuring addicting combat and rewarding character dynamics and development, Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is ready for action.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 takes what made the original an absolute belter of a game and improves almost everything. The turn-based action will keep you on your toes and ensures excitement in every encounter, while the charming yet gritty story hits you in the feels all over again. It has tons of replayability with alternate routes and multiple endings to witness.

We cannot recommend Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 enough to those who played the first title and hope those who haven’t consider giving the series a much-deserved once over as it’s one of the most satisfying turn-based challenges to date.

Fuga 2 is still an excellent pickup and a great RPG, but as an iterative sequel, it doesn’t manage to have the earth shaking “wow” factor that first game had, nor will anything in Fuga 2 surprise you that much if you completed Fuga 1. Still, I’m definitely curious as to how on earth they can make a third game like this without things starting to get stale, and if the momentum will continue to hold up when that comes.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is an impressive achievement, building in some nice new elements on top of the solid foundation set by the first game. It only makes some minor tweaks, but these add some fun new elements, useful tools, and great tension, all while letting you deepen your bond with this lovable crew. Just prepare to have your heart broken unless you’re an incredible tactician.
