If you want to play something out of the ordinary, you certainly can't go wrong with the very intriguing Cosmic Top Secret.Cosmic Top Secret gameplay video → Chess Knights: Shinobi Review PlayStation 4 ★★★☆☆ Games don't get much more classic than good old chess but what if you turn that formula on its head? Here's Chess Knights: Shinobi. Earlier this year, I played and reviewed Knight's Retreat and Chess Knights: Shinobi essentially features the exact same gameplay albeit with more complexity and gimmicks.

Cosmic Top Secret is a fun adventure/puzzle game. The odd presentation may strike some as just being weird, but I think it’s quirky enough to be both different and engaging. If you are geared more toward action games, this may not be your thing. But if you like detective stories, this is a good option.

If you don’t care about history, of course, then Cosmic Top Secret probably isn’t worth your time. Like I said, the 3D platforming element is wonky at the best of times, so if you don’t want a deep dive into Cold War history, it won’t be worth it. But if you’re in the mood to be educated as you play, Cosmic Top Secret is about as engrossing as historical games come.

Cosmic Top Secret's very existence and ethos makes it special in the realm of gaming. It's conceptually brilliant and heartwarming. Arguably, it's still worth fighting the game's mechanics just because Trine--and you, by proxy--deserves to know the truth and hear every angle of these peoples' captivating story firsthand. Trine started her journey with curiosity and finds herself closer to the people who raised her than ever, while also giving them the ultimate familial gift: a literal living history of their youth, and their work for the greater good, through the fantastical, imaginative eye of their clearly talented, inquisitive daughter.
