If you've a love for games such as Civilization and Settlers then this is one PC game you can't do without. While not as high-profile as those titles it should not be missed.

The graphics are amazing and definitely deserve special recognition, as does the sound. The multiplayer seems a bit slow at times, but taken with the pros and cons, the pros definitely win out in this game.

1701 offers a nicely presented and deep strategy for gamers looking to sculpt a Caribbean styled empire, with fantastic artwork and interesting gameplay I would highly recommend this for players in the gaming mood to build, rather than destroy. Top Game Moment: Zooming out amongst the clouds and admiring my colony with such a supreme visual beauty. Graphics are superb with a cartoon vibe to them; the water is a sight to behold if your PC can handle the requirements.

It is evident that the designers, Related Designs, put their heart into this game, along with a lot of money. The result is very satisfying and there is a lot of bang for your buck. A great Christmas present for families! 1701 A.D.

With a refreshingly simple interface, various scenarios and multiplayer options, Anno 1701 presents one of the most charming experiences in the civilisation simulation genre this year. It might not have the depth of play for some (particularly in the lacklustre combat), but for those after a more casual experience in historic economics and trading, you may well consider striking a deal with Anno. 81% John Wednesday, 6 December 2006, 22:16:54 this game is perfect, well it gives help to understanding about how to run a city.
