V-Rally 4 is a deep and challenging experience. There’s an undeniable issue with the game’s somewhat overly loose controls, but with that to the side, this is every bit as engaging as V-Rally has always been. Everything from the game’s stunning visual and audio presentation to its dynamic systems and its content diversity, has been developed meticulously to produce one hell of a tense second-by-second racer. This game was tested and reviewed on Xbox One.

V-Rally 4 has charmed me enough to mostly overlook its aforementioned quirks and glitches. I’ve still been having a lot of fun throughout all of the different disciplines, even making it hard for me to select a ‘favorite’. They all feel like their own little game in a way, despite being a part of the same package. Thus, I’d recommend picking V-Rally 4 up for any fan of a sim-arcade off-road racer. Even if those graphical issues aren’t addressed, there’s still a solid chance I’ll be playing this game for a good amount of time to come.

Despite the sacrifices, V-Rally 4 is still the most detailed racing game on Switch for the time being. It’s difficult but remains a lot of fun. With GRID also on the way, perhaps the racing sim genre is making a real return to Nintendo platforms. Release Date: Dec.
