SNK Vs. Capcom: Card Fighters’ Clash was one of the most popular games on its console, and even now it’s easy to see why. It’s one of those games that gives back the more you put into it, and Code Mystics has done just about everything possible to make sure you can enjoy it to the fullest. Those curious about what the NEOGEO Pocket Color had to offer beyond its excellent fighting games will want to pick this up, and it goes without saying that card game fans should dive in on this one as well. SwitchArcade Score: 5/5 New Releases Labyrinth Legend ($14.99) An action-RPG roguelite from NIS America and Regista, Labyrinth Legend is a serviceable take on the concept that doesn’t stretch much farther than that.

Overall Card Fighters’ Clash holds up very well to modern scrutiny – like most of the top tier NGPC titles – and this sensibly priced port is a must play for anyone with even a passing interest in the card battler genre.

As good as it ever was and now incredible value, SNK Vs. Capcom: Card Fighters' Clash is still essential. Obviously the card-based gameplay isn't going to appeal to everyone, but at this asking price we'd say it's worth a go even if card games usually turn you off, especially if you dig SNK/Capcom's extensive character rosters. Many, many series are represented here and everything you need to learn to play is available in the scanned manual as well in-game via tutorials. Let it get its hooks into you and you've got a bit of a masterpiece here, and we're absolutely delighted that it's graced the Nintendo Switch with its excellence.

The Switch release of SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters Clash looks wonderful in its pixelated glory and they’ve added bonus features that make the game even more accessible. Features such as rewind, customizable displays, and even a manual truly create a well-rounded experience. It also helps that the Switch release is, quite frankly, really cheap. At $8, I highly recommend checking out this game, even if you’re an extremely casual card fighting game player. The price is cheap enough and the game is so welcoming to newcomers that it could be a great stepping stone into the genre. For those who already love card fighting games, SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters Clash is a great pick up you’ll enjoy immensely.

SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters' Clash was a game I loved dearly at one time and have had a wonderful time coming back to in 2022. Fans of both SNK and Capcom can find plenty of enjoyment here, whether in the gameplay itself or just in the card art — just don't expect the bells and whistles one might expect from a modern CCG video game.
