Promenade is as charming and colourful as it is clever and challenging. It manages to keep the surprises coming throughout, offering more to the player than it has any real right to do.

Overall, I think Promenade is a platforming adventure that’s definitely worth your time. It has a decent challenge curve, enough so that it might not be for everyone, but the difficulty never feels particularly unfair, and failing a tough segment generally only sets you back a handful of seconds. It’s also an absolutely beautiful looking game, well animated, and the various worlds and areas you uncover are often cleverly designed, especially compared to other likeminded platformers out there. I loved Promenade, and I think you will too, so check it out when you get a chance.

Promenade is a lovingly crafted platformer that may catch you off guard. I went in with no real expectations, and as a result ended up being pleasantly surprised every step of the way.

Promenade is a surprise hit of early 2024. I hope it will be on the radar of many as it deserves so given its gameplay diversity, great level design, inventive puzzles, supremely charming presentation, outstanding soundtrack, and great technical Switch implementation. A light story and character development alongside several small technical mishaps do little to challenge this otherwise outstanding childhood fantasy. It’s a superb 2D platformer and indie benchmark for the sub-genre.

Do not be fooled by its cute cartoon design and its pillow fort save points. Promenade is a brilliant platformer. Promenade was developed by a new studio whose website says the game was developed by “4 enthusiasts who want to create a unique video game experience”.
