While Mail Mole isn’t groundbreaking (pun intended), the amount of charm on display is absolutely wonderful. The visuals are colorful, the controls are fantastic, and I was more than happy to consume this gaming equivalent of comfort food. It’s definitely familiar, but fans of mascot platformers have another winner on their hands here. Disclosures: This game is published by Undercoders and developed by Talpa Games.

The level designs are solid and moving your little mole around in them is pleasant. You’ve got a very typical hub structure, a lot of familiar types of levels, and various secrets tucked away for you to find. While the character designs and music let down the overall presentation a little bit, the graphics are bright and colorful, and everything runs quite smoothly. This probably isn’t going to rock anyone’s world, but if you enjoy the genre I think you’ll have a lot of fun going through this one. SwitchArcade Score: 4/5 Sales (North American eShop, US Prices) Today is Mario Day, but did you know that yesterday was Hatsune Miku Day? That’s because ‘3/9’ can be read in Japanese as ‘Mi-Ku‘, which is also why the regular price of Project DIVA is $39.39.

Mail Mole is platforming action in its purest form. Considerably cute, moderately challenging, with gameplay aspects that will keep both newbies and hardcore gamers happy.

Mail Mole provides a fun 3D platforming experience. The game is easy to pick up and play, but plenty of time can be spent with in-game endeavours such as time trials and gaining new outfits. Review Disclaimer: This review was carried out using a copy of the game provided by the publisher.

Mail Mole is a very interesting concept that is largely executed well. It forces the player to adjust their brain to a new kind of 3D platforming in a way few games do. Its only real failing is that these ideas could benefit from being pushed further. Repeated concepts with only minimal iteration can make the mid game a bit slow. That being said it still represents a surprisingly original 3D platformer whose concepts I’d love to see taken even further.
