Despite the mild annoyances and missed opportunities for further narrative development, Lost At Sea mostly hits its themes on-target and serves its message and philosophical questions confidently. With strong core elements in place, Lost At Sea is a recommended title to anyone who might want to explore this side of life in an interactive way. Disclaimers: This game is developed by Studio Fizbin and published by Headup.

Lost at Sea is the story of a woman desperately trying to keep her head above water in an overwhelming ocean of emotions. But it’s also the story of a game that is perhaps not entirely sure of what it’s trying to accomplish. It’s hard to face your fears when they send you right back to the beginning, thwarting your progress on a cumbersome island. It’s clearly not the next Myst, but it’s not like it’s trying to be. I’m not saying don’t get the game, but I’m not exactly saying you should get it either. One thing’s for certain: Lost at Sea is made from the heart.

Lost at Sea is a narrative adventure about coming to terms with your life and has a meaningful story to tell, but it fails to deliver anything new to the genre. The shadows chasing you actively hinder the enjoyment of what could have been a nice experience. *Disclaimer: Reviewed on Xbox Series X.

Lost at Sea is the worst kind of bad game: one that’s just plain boring. You can’t even take enjoyment from its lousiness. It’s competently done, but it’s a dreadfully dull experience, and for all the game’s efforts to make you feel something, the only emotion it’s likely to evoke is boredom.
