While LocoCycle doesn’t scream next-gen visually, it is a lot of fun to play. There’s a ton of variety with what you can do and you’re never quite sure what you’ll do from one stage to the next – let alone what kind of wacky enemies you’ll do battle with.

It’s not the most standout piece of work in Xbox One’s launch lineup, nor does it pull off any amazing technical tricks — but it’s a fun, cheap ride busting at the gills with an absurd amount of charm.

Lococycle isn’t complex, but I was easily sucked into its silliness. I wanted to see where this intentionally stupid story was headed, and it was worth the trip – even if the game itself isn't very deep.

While LocoCycle is the worst looking game of the Xbox One launch, it's saved thanks to its over the top and fun gameplay. It can get repetitive at times, but the game does mix up what you're doing relatively often, which keeps things from becoming overly monotonous.

Its inconsistent gameplay becomes tedious despite its imaginative variety, and its levels lack cohesion or a sense of momentum. Like the cheesy 90's films it apes, LocoCycle is memorable, but not quite good. In This Article LocoCycle Review okay LocoCycle earns its name with a metric ton of crazy, but its inconsistent, monotonous gameplay ultimately derails it.
