Guilty Gear ACPR is a really enjoyable fighter, despite being a bit older than some of the more entries in the franchise. It’s a strange choice having this one ported over a more recent one such as XRD, but ACPR still holds up extraordinarily well, with a bunch of single player content to unlock, great fighting mechanics, and a great game balance that make this worth revisiting whether you’re a newcomer or a big fan of the series.

Although I could recommend other games by Arc System Works to get your fighting fix, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R is well worth the investment. You get two great fighting games from the past for your Nintendo Switch library, and both pack great gameplay and options for you and a friend. Sure, the online in Plus R could be way better, but the adaptable systems, fun presentation, and smoking gameplay will keep you highly entertained.

While I would have much rather have seen the more accessible and modern, “Xrd” to see release on steam, AC+R serves as a great example of the series in its classic form and notorious depth.
