I had a ton of fun playing the game for this Gryphon Knight Epic review. The game is the perfect lenght, and it includes a full trophy count that will surely make trophy hunters happy. The Platinum will definitely require some effort, but if you work hard enough you should have it in your collection.

Overall, I think that Gryphon Knight Epic is a great game for fans of the genre and can even surprise people who are looking for a good story. It provides great controls that people familiar with the genre will be comfortable with and that new players will be able to pick up quickly.

A beautiful retro game with a great concept. However, there are a variety of hurdles along the way that keep it from being as good as it should have been. * The product in this article was sent to us by the developer/company. Guess who's back!!! If you have been here before, you know the basics: lifelong gamer, father, and of course, former certified news monkey.

Yes, I rage quit a few times but it drew me back in. Yes, sound effects and controls needed more work but I could look past that because it was fun. I really want to love this game more but something deep down says I shouldn’t. Perhaps with a little more time on some polishing (or even a patch) this game would be very easy for me to love.

The gameplay feels great, with tight controls and shooting mechanics. The game offers some interesting upgrades and abilities that can be used to go back and explore the game in more depth. The visual presentation is strong and uses a playful and vibrant style. I would highly recommend this title if you’re a fan of classic side scrollers like Mega Man or Castlevania or more recently games like Shovel Knight. REVIEW CODE: A complimentary Microsoft Xbox One code was provided to Brash Games for this review.

Gryphon Knight Epic is a challenging and enjoyable—if forgettable—little shoot-‘em-up with plenty of nostalgia to offer the 25 to 35-year-old crowd. While it may not have the staying power of Raiden or Ikaruga, it also won’t make you weep tears of inadequacy the way those games will.
