FIA European Truck Racing Championship is a surprisingly good racer, though it’s not going to appeal to all due to the fact that it’s about racing big heavy trucks rather than the latest sports cars. Still, for those seeking something a little bit different, it’s definitely worth investigating. I wouldn’t say it does anything spectacularly well, but when there’s nothing else quite like it available, it doesn’t matter all that much. FIA European Truck Racing Championship offers a fresh racing experience, and that’s somewhat an unexpected pleasure in 2019. FIA European Truck Racing Championship is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Truck Racing Championship may not be the most polished or impressive race sim out there, but it’s meant for a specific audience, one that I believe will appreciate the authenticity to the ETRC sport and trucks themselves. It’s a different racing experience than I’m used to, but it definitely piqued my interest in the actual sport, something I had never heard of or paid any attention to until playing Truck Racing Championship, even if the game itself wasn’t terribly robust.

Bigben Interactive have done a fantastic job of bringing the sport to the console experience. The competitive feel is certainly there, and the unique handling seems to have been particularly well crafted. It would be nice to have a little more to do in the career mode, but the racing experience does a great job of ensuring this doesn’t feel like another typical racer – with a few menu changes and some extra activities to partake in, we could well have a new racing series ready to make waves. TXH Score 3.5/5 Pros: - Racing has that realistic sim-feel and handles it well - Official trucks, teams and liveries - The A.I.
