Fallen Angel is quite enjoyable for fans of pixel-art, boss-fight driven gameplay. There is a wide variety of weapons, equippables, and consumables to search for throughout the Heavens, with each item changing how the game plays. For instance, there are various items that improve your ability to deal damage to combatants with ranged weapons, but if you prefer to get up-close and personal with your opponent, there are also many items that can assist you in your endeavors.

While I wouldn’t list Fallen Angel as my game of the year, it’s definitely entertaining while it lasts. It’s hard to enough to be satisfying, has a fantastic variety of areas, and the combat is fast and snappy. There’s a few flaws here and there, namely in a few minor bugs and the combat stagnating partway through, but it’s definitely worth the asking price. Review copy provided by Matrioshka Games for PC.

Although Fallen Angel suffers from some annoying performance issues and long load times when reloading after death, it also does some things right. Its archangels are infused with lots of detail, such as their character designs, fighting styles, and musical themes.
