After several of the tournament-style sessions, I never once cared if I won or lost, as it was just so bloody fun. I’ve grown cynical of videogames over the past twenty-five plus years of playing them.

At the end of the day, Duck Game is flocking fun and a real gem for anyone wanting some pure, unadulterated entertainment. Its simple controls mixed with addictively fun gameplay and a hilarious premise make this an instant multiplayer classic.

Duck Game is many things, but I think it’s best described as weird, simple, and anarchic fun. I’m hoping that Adult Swim Games finds a way to deal with ragequitters online, but other than that, I had nonstop fun with Duck Game.

Duck Game has been of favorite indie party game for years on PC, and I’m so excited to finally be able to bring it with me wherever I go to convince more friends and coworkers to play it with me at any time. Even though it was made as a PC exclusive five years ago, it still feels like Duck Game was made for the easy pick-up-and-play-anywhere multiplayer that the Switch was first advertised with. Few games draw out as many laughs, screams, and curses among my friends as Duck Game does, and now that it’s available on Switch it’s going to be a cornerstone of my millennial rooftop parties for years to come.

If you want to play a local multiplayer game with a friend or two or three then there are not many better games than Duck Game.

While it could easily draw comparisons to a number of recently successful 2D multiplayer games like Samurai Gunn and TowerFall, I see a mix of randomness and pace from the likes of WarioWare and Super Crate Box. Matches can be over in seconds — some stages seem designed that way.
