Die for Valhalla! is a game that is easy to recommend on PlayStation 4. The way the game looks and feels is great, the gameplay mechanics are fun and the difficulty options allow players new to the genre or those with some considerable experience to dive into a great adventure. Which class will you select for your journey?

Multiplayer is a blast and single player won’t let you go, even though you might get tired of the grind about halfway through. There’s also a neat story to be found and the cast of characters that keep reanimating are delightful, with some very original game mechanics on show.

Die for Valhalla!’s possession mechanic never tires and remains every bit as addictive as it is enticing. It’s a very accessible game that comes with some intriguing design choices and a great deal of variation across the board. I found issue with a few instances of unfair difficulty and it would have been nice to see support for online multiplayer, but when all is said and done, Die for Valhalla! is easily one to recommend. This game was tested and reviewed on Xbox One.

Die for Valhalla! can be appreciated either as a surprisingly complex action RPG or just a fantastic casual beat em’ up. Whichever way you see it, Valhalla is a welcome addition to the Switch’s growing RPG library.

Die for Valhalla! is a fine brawler offering a number of ways to play whether you want to do that alone or with up to four others. It has options for any party size within the parameters and multiple ways to play.

If you’ve ever felt the need or desire to possess a few dead Vikings and wreak havoc on a load of enemies with a friend, Die for Valhalla fits nicely. The co-op plays well and there are a lot of things going on during most battles. Other than the framerate hit and maybe losing track of where your player is on the screen, it’s a fun and satisfying hack and slash that can be played for 10 minutes or even a few hours at a time. Today is a good day to Die for Valhalla! Die for Valhalla was reviewed using a final retail Nintendo Switch download code provided by the publisher. Jay has been an avid gamer since the Intellivision days.
