Its challenges may be tough to overcome yet Demon's Tier+ offers a fleshed out game world that's awesome to watch unfold.Demon's Tier+ gameplay video → More roguelike twin-stick shooters Spirit of the North Review Switch ★★☆☆☆ Adventure games where you wander around and solve simple puzzles definitely have their audience but is Spirit of the North any good? When I saw Spirit of the North's trailer, I was captivated by its snowy world and foxy hero but after playing it, I'm quite disappointed.

Despite a lacklustre story, a couple of negligible problems and a disappointing climax, Demon’s Tier+ on Xbox One is still an addictively fun twin-stick, rogue-like experience. The unlockable characters, improved weaponry and a rewarding sense of achievement just ensures you want to dive in again and again. Having a cavalcade of different enemies to fight helps to keep each playthrough fresh as well.

Once I figured how to best utilize the dual currency system and escape with my rope as needed, I started to enjoy my time with Demon’s Tier+ much more. While the grind is long and arduous, there’s plenty of replay value within for those that want a challenge to unlock everything it has to offer, including multiple tiers. Highly addictive twin-stick gameplay combined with tough-but-fair roguelike elements make for quite a decent experience overall, one that had me trying “just one more time”.

While its roguelite gameplay is familiar territory, Demon's Tier+ executes the formula very well. It could do with a more elegant tutorial than the multi-page bombardment the game starts with, but it's hard to hold that against it when everything else works so nicely. It may not have prestige, but Demon's Tier+ is cheap and cheerful. A good, pacy game for two.

If this is the swansong for COWCAT and Diabolical Mind on Vita, then it's a very good way to go out.
