Angels of Death revolves around its puzzle gameplay loop complemented by a great cast of characters and story that provides a compelling experience to players. One playthrough will deliver everything you need to know, which takes away from replayability, but makes it a great weekend game. Through its depressing story beats and clever design, Angels of Death wears its RPG Maker horror themes on its shoulder for fans of the genre to immerse themselves in. There’s a lot to love in Angels of Death because it isn’t yet another indie horror copycat. In almost every way it pushes toward different directions.

Angels of Death will click with those who hunt through it's rough gameplay segments and take in its interesting story. While the gameplay may be rough, the story and the atmosphere are enough to recommend this to any fan of the genre, and the puzzle qualities found within are interesting, even when they falter. This is a small game that manages to be creepy, even if it stumbles slightly along the way.

What the game lacks in breadth and depth of puzzles it somewhat makes up for in variety. Each of the game's four 90-minute episodes supplies a collection of unique puzzles and mini-games.
