Fans of 90’s style platformers will want to check out Adventures of Chris. It can feel a bit unfair at times, especially in regards to the boss fights, but persevere and there’s a decent platform adventure to be found here.Become a Patron! With the reminiscence of the past and the continued challenge, Adventures of Chris has turned out to be a lot of fun to play. The dialogue throughout is hilarious and really adds great humor. Overall, Adventures of Chris is worth playing, especially if you were a gamer in the ’90s, so see if you can find the hidden gems curated by the developer. I found that the fact that someone chose to make a balloon world in the sky as if there was a place that our balloons we let go of as kids actually went somewhere instead of just popping or becoming a hazard to nature. Give this game a try, I promise you will laugh!

Adventures of Chris doesn’t break new ground in the 2D platformer genre. Still, it provides genuine humour, personality and variety in bucketloads, all while sending a few loving glances to the 16-bit era of videogames.

Overall, Adventures of Chris is a perfectly pleasant, charming and nostalgic trip for anyone who grew up in the 1990s. It plays well, it's colorful and charming, and it has an amazing soundtrack. Only an over-reliance on somewhat mean-spirited jokes drags it down, but that is largely ignorable. It doesn't do anything special or unique, but if you just want a relaxing little platformer to play, then Adventures of Chris has you covered.

Adventures of Chris is not a pretty game to look at. Initially, it is slow, somewhat uninvolving, and ostensibly simplistic. However, for players who persevere beyond those opening levels, there are some genuinely clever and fun platforming elements to be discovered, adapting and evolving the 16 bit template. It’s just a shame that the first part of the game is so slavish to the formula. There’s fun to be had here, just at the expense of the legacy it evokes.

Adventures of Chris is a good little platformer that references its 90’s influences to the hilt. It has a funny, cartoony story that is family-friendly and enjoyable, even if the gameplay pushes things difficulty-wise.
